Blakeslee Wins Seat in California's 15th District

After two special elections, a series of candidate forms, and millions of dollars in donations and expenditures, Republican Sam Blakeslee has surfaced as the State Senator for California's District 15. He'll replace Abel Maldonado who was appointed earlier this year to the position of lieutenant governor. District 15 includes Hollister, Watsonville, Salinas, the southern portion of Montery County and San Luis Obispo County, but not the cities of Monterey, or Santa Cruz.
