Octopush Fall Membership Drive 2005

Hosted by Nicholas Mitchell

Tune in at 7:00 pm for Musica della sera. I regret that I was unable to compile a playlist for this evening's program, but for a happy reason. We received so much listener response to our pledge drive, there just wasn't time! Thanks so much for all who contributed. We at KUSP are all very gratified.
To the best of my memory we listened to excerpts from The Mikado, from the soundtrack of Topsy Turvy, and from the George MacKerras recording.
A Jacqueline du Pre performance of Bach's first Cello suite.
Marcello's oboe concerto in D.
A Telemann fantasia for unaccompanied Transverse flute.
Keyboard sonatas by D. Scarlatti performed by V. Horowitz.
Guitar works: Albeniz's "Layenda", played by Julian Bream, Afro-Cuban Lullaby, played by Christopher Parkening, Couperin's Mysterious Barricades, played by John Williams.
A Chopin mazuraka played by Artur Rubinstein
We ended with Yo Yo Ma playing a cello transcription of Bach's "Sheep May Safely Graze".
