Tonight's edition of Giant Steps covers a wide range of material.  We begin with a brief tribute to Louis Armstrong, who is being celebrated this year with several features on KUSP, and with the reissue of many of his recordings.  We also include John Coltrane's landmark ensemble piece Ascension, which has just been remastered and reissued by the Impulse label.
