Today’s program includes a conversation with drummer Jeff Ballard, part of the trio “Fly,” which performs in Santa Cruz Thursday, and in San Francisco Friday.  We also include 3 tracks featuring bassist Richard Davis accompanying drummer Elvin Jones.  Jones died on May 17, and next week’s program will be devoted to his music exclusively.  We end by acknowledging yesterday’s anniversary of the birth of jazz legend Miles Davis.
