Wednesday, April 17, 2002
Tonight's program features a tribute to Charles Mingus, born April 22,
1922. The bassist, composer, and bandleader was a major figure in
jazz history, and his influence has grown since his death in 1979.
We also hear a rare hour of Miles Davis and John Coltrane in concert in
Germany in 1960.
