Tonight's edition of Giant Steps features an outstanding but relatively
unknown album from the "golden years" of the Blue Note label. Basra,
by drummer Pete LaRoca and a group with saxophonist Joe Henderson, bassist
Steve Swallow, and pianist Steve Kuhn, is out of print as an LP, and not
yet available on CD.
