Tonight's program devotes the first hour to a biography of Thelonious Monk,
one of the true giants of jazz. Monk died February 17, 1982.
The second hour features compositions and performances by Monk. The
third hour features the music of John Coltrane, including rare live recordings
from the Half Note Club in New York City in 1965.
