Tonight's program is devoted to the music of Eric Dolphy, born
June
20, 1928 in Los Angeles. He passed away on June 29, 1964 in
Berlin. He is heard leading his own groups, as well as on recordings
with other jazz legends, on alto saxophone (A), bass clarinet (B),
clarinet (C), and flute (F). All recordings on the Prestige label
are included in the 9-CD set "Complete Prestige Recordings of Eric
Dolphy."
