Tonight's broadcast marks the 50th anniversary of a landmark recording session by the first great Miles Davis Quintet. Miles, John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones recorded 14 tracks that initially appeared on the albums "Relaxin'," "Steamin'," and "Workin'," all on the Prestige label. They have just been reissued as part of a 4-CD set.
