Mind Body Spirit - Tuesday, September 10th
On the next Mind Body Spirit, Nancy Shanfeld hosts a discussion of Alzheimers disease with Jessica Bryan, author of Love Is Ageless: Stories about Alzheimers disease, and Jill Ginghofer, executive director of the Santa Cruz Alzheimers Association. Nancy also welcomes Tony Barrera and Nan Lewicky of Population Services International, to discuss parent-teen communication.

Mind Body Spirit - Tuesday, September 3rd
KUSP presents a special program entitled "The Spiritual Fallout of September 11th."   Through compelling stories and conversation, the show explores religious and moral questions raised by last year's events.  How have people responded?  Guests include a Quaker author and teacher, the priest who coordinated clergy at Ground Zero, and the first woman vice-president of the Islamic Society of North America. Airs Tuesday at noon.

The theme is "relationships as a tool for spiritual development," with host Ben Saltzman. His guest is Master Coach Donna Fowler, discussing keeping your spirit and soul alive as you work.

Mind Body Spirit - Tuesday, August 20th
Noel Murphy speaks with Steve Ashley of the Divorced Fathers Network, about their work to promote co-parenting and improve family relationships.  And Derek Albertsen interviews Alan Morinis about his new book, Climbing Jacob's Ladder. They'll discuss the relevance of ancient Jewish meditative traditions in the modern world.

Willa Keiser welcomes psychotherapist Erin O'Shaugnessy and acupuncturist Evan Shepherd. They discuss how they work together and the benefits of combining psychotherapy with Traditional Chinese Medicine for some patients.

Nancy Shanfeld discusses breast cancer support groups with Lynne Wittenberg, project coordinator of WomenCARE-Stanford's Peer Navigator Program, along with and participants from the program. Nancy also welcomes Dr. Catherine Forest, from UCSC's Student Health Center, to discuss Emergency Contraception, the well-kept secret that's finally getting some exposure.

Martha Benedict speaks with Dr. Kathryn Morris, discussing options in hormone replacement therapy. Martha also speaks with Dr. Sharleah Mashion about the Women's Health Network, including their perspective on hormone replacement therapy.

Mind Body Spirit - Tuesday, July 23rd
Martha Benedict welcomes David Blume (known as "Farmer Dave"), president of the International Institute of Ecological Agriculture.  They'll discuss organic agriculture and community supported agriculture, and how it's good for the individual and the world.  Martha also speaks with Cabrillo College instructor Patty Dunks, about "healing gardens" and horticulture as a healing tool.

Deanna Zachary in conversation with the woman who turned  "Codependent" into a household word. Author Melody Beattie talks about her best-selling book Codependent No More and her new book called Choices: Taking Control of Your Life and Making It Matter. And Nancy Shanfeld talks about Alzheimer's and related diseases with Clyde Vaughn, administrator for the Cedar Creek Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Center in Los Gatos; and Jill Ginghofer, executive director of the Alzheimer's Association of Santa Cruz County.
